Sad Weekends is a perzine – the name “refers to how, as a sober and relatively solitary person, often dread weekends because they remind [the author] of how weird [she] feels for not enjoying things [she’s] supposed to, like drinking, parting, and staying up really late”. This issue is on gender performativity and how she presents her gender via dress, mother-daughter relationships and passing on ideas of food and taking up space, and internalised misogyny.
